Motivation Monday: Let Go of the Past

pastquote

Quote: “I don’t know what hurt u ma, but I know that living in the past just hurt u more.”

This past Thursday, I attended my young friend’s first photo exhibition at the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center. I saw some really great works all around (including my friend’s, of course) and then I saw this wall of quotes. I’m not sure if the person (named Justice Understanding under the quotes and photos) who posted this is the author of the quote or not, but I thought this was so profound.

Although there’s a bit of street slang (i.e. “ma” which eludes to a woman), the message overtakes it. Bringing old problems into the present truly limits us. Especially if we are trying to change some aspect of our lives. Why live in the past and sulk in mistakes? Let’s learn from those mistakes, move forward and prove to ourselves that we can have a better future.

Motivation Monday: Courage

couragequote

Having the courage to do or say something is a scary feat. This is especially true when we feel inadequate in some sort. We may even feel like we are not taken seriously. But should this fear – whether real or imagined – take over? Simply, no. Yes, courage doesn’t come with a guarantee of unlimited fearlessness. The same is true of our fears – it is no guarantee that they would make us weak. Ironically, it takes courage to overcome our fears to be courageous! Isn’t that something to think about? 😎

Foodie Friday: Fish Tacos

A few years ago, I would visit the rooftop taco truck at Whole Foods for a set of good fish tacos. The taco truck was the closest to get them and I never really visited Chipotle or Qdoba often. Wait: Are you with me or are you still stuck on the fact there was a truck on a roof? Yes indeed, a real food truck on the roof (with no working auto parts though – no worries). I assume it got there by crane? As far as I know, it is still on the roof at the Plymouth Meeting Whole Foods.  Continue reading

Foodie Friday: Cranberry Cherry Popsicles

With the weather changing for the better (warmth and sun) we are getting closer to having cool summer treats! I am looking forward to making Popsicles made with real fruit instead buying ones from a package. I found this lovely recipe by Ginny from Vegan In The Freezer:

These Cranberry Cherry Popsicles are made with only three ingredients! Grab an ice mold and a bag of popsicle sticks from your local craft store or dollar store and make these for the weekend. 😉 Here’s the recipe via Vegan In The Freezer!
