Foodie Friday: Vegan Black Bean Burgers

As you can see, I’m still on a burger theme this Foodie Friday. Maybe it’s because grilling season is here and I’ve been to a few barbecues already? Maybe because I’m anxious for a new burger to try?

In any case, I rediscovered a yummy vegan black bean burger recipe from my friend Brown Veggie Mom (also known as Cherri). Remember Cherri from this post about her blog? Yup, same one. πŸ™‚

I preferably like to eat turkey burgers for health reasons andΒ try toΒ steer clear of beef burgers (an exception: if it’s perfectly seasoned and grilled…mmm πŸ˜› ). Vegan burgers andΒ “meat like” meat were always sketchy toΒ me. I never had fake ground meat until Cherri made some dishes, like spaghetti or tacos. The “meat” was very similar, if not better, than the real thing!

The key is seasoning the “meat” well, no matter what the base is (tofu, black beans, etc). I like this recipe because it calls for very simple ingredients that anyone can have in their pantry or fridge. Plus, it isn’t full of grease!
